We know this year has been difficult for most of us, so the Scandia-Marine Lions Club wanted to do something fun for Halloween. At the same time, we want to support two of our causes – Hunger and Vision – by collecting food for the local food shelf and eyeglasses for our vision program.
This year, we are hosting a special Halloween car parade + food and eyeglasses collection drive that will go through neighborhoods throughout Scandia. The parade will take place at 1 p.m. and go until about 2-2:30 p.m., depending on the number of registrations.
The route will begin at 14363 Oren Road North, wind itself through several neighborhoods north of Highway 97, head south on Olinda Trail to the main intersection in town where it will turn left. The parade will go through several neighborhoods south of Highway 97 before it drives past the Scandia Community Center, north on Olinda Trail, and completes its route to the road leading to Scandia Elementary School. (Print the parade flyer here: Parade flyer or see the image below for the route and more information.)
We will be practicing all COVID-19 safety guidelines, including using hand sanitation/gloves, face masks, and providing pre-packaged goodies for Car Parade participants.
