The Scandia-Marine Lions Club is launching a new virtual Lions Lecture Series. Each month – from August 2020 until June 2021 – learn about the global causes that the Lions are interested in supporting: diabetes, the environment, hunger, pediatric cancer, and vision.
The Lions Lecture Series kicks off with a free webinar by Angie Hong of the Washington County Conservation District on Wednesday, August 19th at 11:30 a.m.
Get ideas for creating and nurturing habitat on your land to attract wildlife and protect local water resources. Learn:
- Which trees and shrubs are best for birds;
- How to enhance existing gardens to provide nectar for pollinators;
- How to protect frogs and nesting turtles; and
- Where to find help for woodland, shoreline, and wetland restoration projects.
Get inspired to make changes on your own property as well as learn how to volunteer with plantings in Scandia (August 22nd), Marine (August 23rd), and the Town of May (August 30th).
