Lions Lecture Series (Virtual) – What is Type 2 Diabetes & How to Prevent It

Be a part of the Scandia-Marine Lions Club’s new virtual Lions Lecture Series. Each month – from August 2020 until June 2021 – learn about the global causes that the Lions are interested in supporting: Diabetes, the environment, hunger, pediatric cancer, and vision.

The Lions Lecture Series’ second free webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. It will feature a presentation by Kathy Klouda, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with Allina Health. She has worked with Diabetes for over 20 years.

Kathy will talk about what Diabetes is and the types of Diabetes. She will focus on Type 2 Diabetes, discuss the risk factors for developing Diabetes, and share how it is treated, including lifestyle measures. She also will discuss ways to help prevent Type 2 Diabetes.

Also, learn how to advocate for making insulin affordable and receive a free brochure with a test to determine if you or someone you know is at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes.
