As a Lion, you will have the opportunity to help others, meet new people and use your talents to make a real impact. You will acquire new skills, meet challenges head-on, cultivate lasting friendships, grow personally, and have fun at the same time.

I’m ready to help.

Lions help where help is needed – in their own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and dedication.

I’m adventurous.

When it comes to meeting challenges, the Lions response is simple: We serve.

I’m a leader.

Lions Clubs International develops leaders. Lion leaders serve at every level of the organization and oversee everything from local membership to the organization’s international direction.

I’m making a difference.

Lions see despair turned to hope when they impact the lives of the less fortunate, the hungry and sick, the homeless and abandoned.

Are Lions clubs for women too?

Yes! Women have been serving in Lions clubs for years. In fact, women are the single fastest growing membership segment of Lions Clubs International. Close to 50% of Scandia-Marine Lions Club members are women.

What is the time commitment?

The Scandia-Marine Lions Club holds two meetings per month on Thursdays to conduct business and enjoy a meal together. There are optional committee meetings for Lions who want to be involved in planning projects and events. Each Lion contributes what they can.

What does it cost?

There is a one-time entrance fee of $35 to Lions International. Semi-annually, the Scandia-Marine Lions Club has $75 dues that cover national dues, club dues, and meals at each club meeting. There also ae one-time costs for a vest, t-shirt, and club pin.

Are there opportunities for my family?

Yes. You can join a Lions club with your spouse and other adult family members living in your household.

If you have children who are between the ages of 12-18, the Forest Lake-Scandia Leo Club has many service projects it does as well as helps at events sponsored by the Scandia-Marine Lions Club and Forest Lake Lions Club. (Please contact Lion Ann Rinkenberger for more information at

The Scandia-Marine Lions Club also welcomes children at special club events and activities which teaches them the joys of volunteering and guides them to a lifelong dedication to helping those in need. The Scandia-Marine Lions Club even encourages 3-12 year old children to volunteer and earn awards through its Cub Program.
