Why volunteer through the
Scandia-Marine Lions Club?
Your family can accomplish more when you work together with others.
The Scandia-Marine Lions Club offers a number of community service projects you can participate in, or you can work with other Lions to develop new programs that interest you.
What can my family do as Lions?
What you do will depend on the needs of the community and the interests of the Scandia-Marine Lions Club members. Your family may have opportunities to help:
- plant trees at a park or care for community gardens
- young people develop life skills and positive values through school-based youth-development programs
- collect used eyeglasses to be recycled and distributed to people in need around the world
- cut blue jeans into pieces that will be used by cobblers and seamstresses in Uganda to make shoes for children who were treated for jiggers
- participate in a Lions youth exchange program and meet Lions from around the world at the international convention
Who are Lions?
Today’s Lions are men, women, and families who have fun volunteering together and share the satisfaction that comes from helping others.
Lions are a network of 1.3 million people in over 200 countries and geographic areas around the world who work together to improve our world.
Your Family Can Make a Difference.
Families who volunteer together, grow together.
Looking for fun new ways to spend time with your family?
Would you like to work with family members and friends to collect food for a food pantry; serve food at a blood drive; pack food for children throughout the world who are starving; or help with one of Scandia-Marine Lions Club’s major events – like Taco Daze or Service Project Sampler Day?
Do you want to show your children the importance of volunteering and helping others?
Are you interested in connecting with other families to improve the area where you live or provide medicine to save the sight of children in Africa?
If so, join other families involved with the Scandia-Marine Lions Club where you can make a difference in our community and in communities around the world.
By volunteering with the Scandia-Marine Lions Club, your family can make life better for others while enriching your own lives. You can make a difference for families in the community and people around the world; and create family memories that will last a lifetime.
The Scandia-Marine Lions Club is always looking for people who want to make a difference in the community. For more information about volunteering, contact the Scandia-Marine Lions Marketing/PR Director Ann Rinkenberger at scandiamarinelionsclub@gmail.com; or tell a Lion that you would like to attend a meeting to learn about the club or help with a service project.
