Veterans Memorial

The memorial seeks to honor U.S. service men and women, past and present, from any location.  Located in Scandia’s Lilleskogen Park, the memorial will be in a peaceful location appropriate for its purpose.

The reasons for the memorial are many.  It is a symbol of our community’s appreciation and gratitude.  It is a place to permanently honor a loved one who served.  It is a place of healing for a veteran and his or her family.  It is a place to teach future generations the price for freedom.

You can be a part of the memorial in several ways.  Funding is completely community focused.  We need donations for the ongoing maintenance costs; and we offer personalized paver brick purchases to honor a veteran.  These are both tax-deductible.  More information is available below.

Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to be a part of the memorial.  We will recognize these sponsors with an engraved brick with donations of $100 or more.

The design of the memorial has come from community input.  It features granite columns and “Walls of Honor” that feature the personalized bricks.  Only veterans are allowed to have bricks on the walls.

Please keep in mind that anyone who has served at any point in time are welcomed to be included on the walls.

Paver Brick Orders

Plan to be a part of the history in the memorial by ordering a paver brick. Bricks are being sold for $100.

MEMORIAL PAVER ORDER FORM

Note: The two walls are full as of May 2018. We want to hear from those who would like to purchase a brick that will be placed in a new location. With enough requests, we will add more walls. Send your application, but no money.

Bricks include three lines: Name, Service Branch, and time of service.

Note: We are requesting that each donor provide some information on the military background of those whose names are on the bricks. This is intended to be used in a brochure that is available to the public.
